Please ignore my stained nails! |
No. Just NO. This is not the kind of brush a liquid eyeliner should have:
Horrible, stiff sponge applicator |
Pros: It is very black and washes off easily (not waterproof).
Cons: The brush/doefoot is wayyy too thick. It's nearly impossible to get a precise line. The shape of the brush sheers out the black a bit so you have to go over the line again which just ups the possibility of making your line jagged. It's extremely difficult to taper your liner to a point for a cat-eye, so I wound up taking the line out to Cleopatra-length. That look has its place but it's hardly what I'd call versatile.
Repurchase? Heck-to-the-NO!
L'oreal Carbon Black Telescopic Liquid Eyeliner is $8-$9 at drugstores, but PLEASE save your money and don't try it!
Three failed attempts to get a thin, opaque line. |
I like your blog a lot!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good product!
Would you mind following each other?

Great review, this seems like an amazing liner. I'll have to test it out. :)
ReplyDeleteI got this.... long time ago. I dislike this, too!! Same reason as you, I don't understand why they design the tip like that, you can't even use it

ReplyDeleteHi Kat, yes! I am confused about why the other commenters say it sounds good... I meant to make it not sound good at all :P
ReplyDeleteAwww, sorry to hear that it didn't turn out well. And the swatches look pretty thick and still wet. I prefer the Japanese cosmetics one instead!
ReplyDeletegreat review!!!
ReplyDeletetoo bad the eye liner is disapointing :(
Thanks, Riya and Nisa. I couldn't get a thin enough line which was a deal-breaker!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely got my hopes up saying that it was lovely and black - all mine are so faint at the moment! But no thin/straight line = killer for me too. Dammit!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing chick :)

Hi Sarah, the applicator is a serious travesty of a liner brush, they really ought to fix it!
ReplyDeleteYou have a cool blog out here.;) Thanks for the insight.
ReplyDeleteawee yeah, I can tell, the brush is just super thick. thanks for your honest review :D
ReplyDeleteactually I have grudge towards L'oreal product =/

Yeah maybe that brush is use for drawing...lol
ReplyDeletei agree....not a big fan of the sponge tip;)
ReplyDelete@Sharda, thanks!
ReplyDelete@Lina, my pleasure! Why the grudge? Mostly I just find them to be so-so.
@Ain't that Pretty, seriously perfect vampire look! Everybody go check out her blog!
@Francesca, thanks! I am following you as well but bloglovin' was down so by e-mail.
@Liz, worst liner brush EVER, I don't think I could even draw with it like nail art. Booooo.
@Kaleido Mind, maybe the sponge tip would be workable if it was like Urban Decay's?
Oh this look like a tricky one to use! Sponge tip? Now that is just crazy talk! lol
ReplyDeleteOh wow a weekend away and all these goody posts to get back to! I am not a huuuge user of liquid liners, but I did find one from MAC which seems to be quite good and stays put relatively well.
ReplyDeleteAnd agreed, sponge tips are a recipe for disaster!
@Old Cow, srsly! lol maybe if it was tapered to a point I could work with it, but it's like a thick nubbin' and useless :-/
ReplyDelete@PvdH Welcome back! Looking forward to your updates :)
ReplyDeleteI don't use them often enough, either, so I need one that is pretty goof-proof! It wasn't worth it to try to save a few bucks and I should have bought the MAC one.
thanks for your honest review! ya this doesn't look all that good I will def not try it!!
ReplyDelete@Pop Champagne, my pleasure! That's why I called myself the Vigilante, heh :)
ReplyDeleteohh sad .... this kind of tip always make the application hard! well, nice review
