Please don't TEAL my credit card number...

My hair is looking shaggy and brassy so I've *cleverly* cropped it out of the photos! :-P
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Sugar Frosting
So, it finally happened.  After years of shopping online with abandon at innumerable retailers, somebody finally hacked my information and made fraudulent charges on my credit card.
I feel so violated!
It is a small comfort to know I likely will not be held liable, and I know other people that have been victims of this kind of fraud.
To cheer myself up, I've done a colorful EOTD!  It's been a while since I reached for colors this vibrant :-D Works a charm <3

Method: Too Faced Shadow Insurance is my base all over, followed by the champagne shade (rehab, fourth from left) on the inner third of the lid applied with a flat eye shadow brush.  Next I applied the purple-tinged blue (bellbottom, second from right) to the outer 2/3 of just the lid with the flat brush, avoiding the crease to tame the bright blues for daytime.  Using just the side of the flat eye shadow brush, I carefully traced the turquoise (peggy, fourth from right) into the crease and outer v, being careful not to take it up too high (for this look, I'm sort of sneaking blue eyeshadows into my office by hiding them in the crease only to be seen when I close my eyes).  This makes for a harsh line, which I softened by using the slanted blending/crease brush with the champagne color (rehab) around the turquoise and up on the browbone as highlight.  Lastly, I used the pencil brush in the teal color (bukowski, third from right) to line the outer 2/3 of my lower lashline, used a white pencil on the waterline, and applied mascara to top and bottom lashes.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in Black, Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara 1 (decent mascara, but not really worth the $30 price tag, in my opinion), Wet n Wild Color Icon Eye Liner in White, Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Angeles, EcoTools flat eyeshadow brush (great for concentrating color, can be used to apply concealer), pencil brush, slanted crease brush

It's Not Easy Being Acid-Green

This is my second attempt to get any decent pictures of my EOTD:
Products used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
MAC Cakeshop Shadestick (tones down the lime shadow slightly)
CoverGirl Lime Alive One-kit Eye Enhancer Eye Shadow
Stila Daydream Palette Trance and Kitten Eyeshadows (Trance deepening the crease, Kitten blending it out)
Kat Von D Autograph Eye Liner in Proud Peacock
Stila Kohl Eye Liner in Topaz on waterline
Rimmel Day 2 Night Mascara (clumped horribly on my right eye, started flaking... do not like)
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

Lipstick is Revlon Colorburst in Carnation

The lighting in every photo gave me Kermit face :-(

UPDATE: Attempt #3. I love sunlight!

Lesson learned? Save the Barbie-pink lipstick and acid-bright eyeshadow for sunny days!

Quick EOTD with Wet n Wild LE Dream Weavers Trio in Dancing in the Clouds

I got stuck buying this marked up to $5 from nonpareilboutique.com, so I thought I ought to at least get an EOTD post out of it.
My Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes mascara is already drying out... lame.
Wet n Wild Dream Weavers LE Collection Trio in Dancing in the Clouds over UDPP with Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara, Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner in Turbo Lover (bronzed metallic plum), and Garnier Tinted Eye Roller
I used the "browbone" shade on the inner crease and lid, the "eyelid" shade on the outer lid, and the sheer violet "crease" shade on my outer crease.  I lined the upper lashline thinly with a plum liquid liner, loaded up on mascara, and blended the edges of the violet color with a skin-tone matte highlight eyeshadow.  This trio is versatile; a light hand gives this office- or school-appropriate touch of color, and a heavy hand can give you a bright and colorful look.

Monday on a Tuesday EOTD: Wet n Wild and MAC Cakeshop mini-review

Even with the extra day to sleep in, it can be a little painful to come off of a holiday.  So, I wanted a treat for breakfast:
Mmm, is it already that time of year? Pumpkin Spice Soy Latte and Pumpkin Scone
It's a chilly 54 degrees out, so I threw on a dark green corduroy hoodie and an ivy eye look:

Fluorescent lighting is horrible, but the alternative is overcast grayness... there's been no good light to be had in days!
Overhead office lights = washed out cheek color and under-eye shadows cast. Plus, I'm wishing I'd gone with a more pigmented lippie...

Rimmel Sun Light Natural Bronzer (so sheer I can practically use it as my all-over finishing powder; I like!), MAC Zoom Lash Mascara sample, Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, Wet n Wild LE Trio in Earth Looks Small From Down Here (olive shade), Buxom Big & Healthy Gloss in Sugar, MAC Shadestick in Cakeshop, Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner in Proud Peacock, Jill Stuart Mix Blush Compact in Romantic Poppy (this blends a dream, btw)
Oh, Cakeshop... how I wanted you for the name, then didn't want you after I saw swatches and heard that you tug on the eyelids during application, then how I again wanted you when I swatched you myself... and now I want to take you back and regret tossing my receipt!  It's not a terrible product, but just in using it this morning I realized the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils seriously do it better (and they are less than $5, versus Shadesticks at $17.50).  Not only that, but the color that swatches lovely on my hand emphasizes darkness around my eyes in spite of the shimmer this shade has, and the green tinge of the color is lost.  I guess you can't love 'em all.

Blue, Monday?

Lips: Maybelline Beige Bombshell
It seems the second I wipe off one look for this blog I'm itching to do another. I realized I hadn't tried to wear the crazy blues from Kat Von D's Metal Orchestra Palette (swatched here), and since my evening plans include whipping up hummus pasta for me and DH and watching True Blood, I figure if the results are truly disastrous no one will be any the wiser (except the husband and anybody who finds these blog pictures...).  I've been buying the Bath and Body Works' Halloween scents, so maybe I'm in the mood for over-the-top Halloween makeup a little early. I know I need something to look forward to on Sunday nights... because Monday comes next!  I hope this EOTD is fun for y'all to see... I don't even mind if you poke fun!
Kat Von D Metal Orchestra Palette, Stila Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner Pen, FORGOT mascara! But, remembered to dab Estee Lauder Modern Mercury Powder Gelee on my cheekbones for even more shimmer

First I dabbed the silver cream shadow (slayer) all over the lid and into the crease. I topped it with the off-white shimmer shade (first class) on my inner corner.  I put the brightest, least shimmery blue (techno) on the outer half of each lid, then layered the other two blues (thrasher and dagger) up into my crease. I was careful not to take the color too far out past the edge of my eye because I am always doing that!  I deepened the crease with a bit of the matte black shadow (lucifer).  Lastly, I packed the lighter gray (razor gray) over the shimmer cream on the inner half of my eye and lined the upper lash line thinly with my Stila Liquid Liner Pen.

Whoa, this is BLUE!

Clearly, mascara is sorely missed but I still think the effect is really Ziggy Stardust!

Ready to rock out with my black concert tee!

Seattle Mermaid

I love me some Starbucks.  I've got a habit and its accompanying "latte factor." I could probably spend more money on makeup if only I could give it up!
Today's rainy and gray, so I thought I'd pull out the only cozy flannel I have.  It always makes me think of the Seattle grunge scene of the 90s, even though its got modern colors and is almost a Western-style shirt.  I have been wanting to do mermaid-green eyes using the Kat Von D Truth palette for a little while now, because the cream shadow in the palette is rapidly drying out.  So, between my mermaid eyes and flannel, I'm drooling for some Starbucks because their logo is, as you may know, a mermaid!
Face: Stila Sheer Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Medium, Boscia BB Cream applied with Beauty Blender, Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil
Just a note: my skin has been HORRIBLE lately.  I mean, serious deep-red spots all over my cheeks and jawline (hormonal acne).  That I can post up these pictures with my skin looking this passable is a testament to the beauty blender and BB cream.
Cheeks: Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sunlight, MAC My Paradise Blush
Eyes: UDPP, Kat Von D Truth Palette, Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes mascara, Garnier Tinted Eye Roller, Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
Nails: Revlon Garden topped with Revlon Sparkle (from a LE set of three mini polishes)

Lips: Wet n Wild Megalast Lip Color in 902C, Jordana Pretty Shine Luxury Gloss in Babe (amazingly gorgeous-nude, $5- total lip combo = yay!)
Shorts, Belt, and Boots - Kohl's (Non-leather Frye boot knockoffs! I hardcore-heart these boots.  When I went vegan, I sold my Frye boots for nearly as much as I paid for them, which was lucky as most of my other leather stuff just had to be donated.  These non-leather harness-style boots were such an amazing find and only like $30-40, whereas my Fryes had been about $180 and re-sold for $150 on ebay, so it's like I got these Kohl's boots for the difference!), Flannel and Lace-trimmed Camisole - Forever21 (so, as usual, my makeup cost a lot more money than my clothes, ha)

Sometimes I'm not totally confident in how I dress.  I took these pics before going out to brunch and planned to put them up anyway.   Then, at the restaurant a woman stopped me and said, "I just love your outfit! I love how you put it together," so I feel pretty good about putting these pics up now! I love to tell people when I like their style, too, even though it takes some nerve to tap a stranger on the shoulder sometimes.  I mean, it's an easy opportunity to make someone's day! I highly recommend it :)

Pink Monday

I know it's "Pink Friday," according to Nicki Minaj (I love her out-there looks!), but the whole Rebecca Black thing made Friday such an uncool day (to me, anyway).  Blame the nails-across-a-chalkboard refrain of "Friday, Friday," that starts going in my head whenever it's that day of the week (curse you, Rebecca Black! You can't unhear that song!).  Mondays are notoriously uncool (see: Mondays, Case of the), but I tried to cheer up myself up this Monday by wearing loads of pink.

TFSI, Maybelling Color Explosion in Pink Punch, Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner in Turbo Lover (Aubergine)

Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Pink & Proper
I'm wearing so much raspberry, I took it easy on my cheeks and just dusted on some Dior Aurora.  The eyeshadows are actually a bit more vivid IRL, but the flourescents at my office are to blame for the washout in these pics.  Do you wear a particular color to put yourself in a good mood?

Kat Von D Mini-Haul plus swatches, first impressions, and Stila Koi

Good evening!  My latest Sephora mini-haul arrived and I was pretty excited to swatch it because it is Kat Von D True Romance eyeshadow palettes.  If you've ever touched one of these you know that they are really soft, smooth, pigmented, and well thought-out in terms of color combos.  Sephora has these two palettes (Metal Orchestra and Angeles) on sale at the moment for $10 off, so I had to collect 'em! I also own Truth (which I snagged for $15 on sale, but I think they are sold out) and True Love (also on sale for $10 off, but I think I got it full-price... booooo). Photographic swatchery hijincks to ensue.
Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lipgloss (freebie with code) in Midnight Cowboy, Stila Smudgestick Waterproof Eyeliner in Koi ($5 on sale, but might be out of stock now), Kat Von D True Romance Eye Shadow Palettes in Angeles (top) and Metal Orchestra (bottom), $24 each on sale

Wrapped up like pretty presents!

Like Heaven and You-Know-Where

These were all creamy-smooth and pigmented, except for techno and razor gray. However, these were easily buildable so all's forgiven!

Every last shadow in the Angeles palette was perfectly buttery-smooth. My pictures don't do these colors justice at all : /

UD Lip Junkie in Midnight Cowboy has a lot of silver micro-shimmer, but overall just looks like a really sheer, reflective gloss that's barely there. It's minty-vanilla like all of them, and I like it.  But the color isn't worth a purchase for me.

Stile Smudgestick in Koi. Wow, look at that.  If it wasn't looking a little like a disease, I think I'd be in love!

See how smoothly that Stila liner writes?  My skin isn't gross, that's the UD Junkie gloss swatched below :P

I swatched some other teals that are popular this year just for a fun comparison:

Left to right (all MAC): Shimmermoss, Surf USA, and Jealousy Wakes (ok, that's not teal but I was curious)

Are ya drooling yet?
