Physicians Formula New Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting 2-in-1 Bronzer & Blush

Hi girls! Things still haven't slowed down since the holidays so I hope you'll excuse my reduced posting.  I read about the latest additions to the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Collection over at Musings, and I truly expected I wouldn't see any of these until February. It just so happens I needed a new shower pouf and headed to my closest CVS last night to pick one up and spotted a couple of the new displays! They had the new Eye Kohl Trios, the two Happy Booster Lipsticks (I got I <3 Nude, which isn't nude at all but is rather like a less-glossy MAC Ever Hip... comparison pending), the two new Happy Booster blushes (pink and warm, didn't get yet b/c I want a sale price), and Bronze/Rose and Bronze/Natural Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting 2-in-1 Bronzer & Blush!

 I just got Bronze/Natural.

Under the powder is a mirror and brush compartment, just like the original Happy Booster bronzers.

Left to right: bronzer, top heart (more of a highlighter and doesn't really show), middle heart, bottom heart

Super-cute, right?
Unfortunately, as the swatches show, it's quite lacking in pigment.  It smells really nice, is very adorably packaged, and goof-proof because of the lack of pigmentation. I had to really work for the swatches and the bronzer didn't show up on my NC25 face at all (though it did sort of work like a light-diffusing finishing powder).  I think this would be good makeup for a teen and it certainly doesn't look bad, but it's over-priced at $14.29 for something so unpigmented.  I'm going to carry it for blush-refreshing and cuteness but it's no workhorse product.  It's really a let-down because the original Happy Booster bronzers are much better!  If you want a festive Valentine's Day compact I'd go with the original Bronzer or Light Bronzer.

  1. I didn't know about this one! I have both the bronzer and the blush but honsetly I'm not sure about them, they are nothing special, sure they smell great but my nose seems to hget used to them. This one looks like a combiantion of the two. I love the cute girly packaging though!

  2. I agree cute packaging! Well I don't think that it would be really pigmented just because i think its supposed to be for all skin tones which would make sense.. ha ha I got a physicians formula one also but not the mood boosting one. Its a nude as well and is for all skin tones and skin types. I really like it, its a mosaic palette. I love it. I was going to buy some of the mood boosting ones but I haven't figured out which ones I want.

  5. Hey Gaby, I love the packaging loads. Sadly, I'd say besides that and the scent it's nothing special, either!

Hi MissTwist, the Mood Boosting ones don't vary much so you can't lose if you choose :)

Hi what the shoe, thank you :) It's a discontinued Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro color and a new NYX Girls in Frizz Spots.

  6. What a bummer! The packaging of these is so cute that I always want to try them, but I'm really not willing to fork over 15 dollars for something that doesnt work, or at least not very well =/

  7. Hey Chelle! If you want a Happy Booster I recommend the original bronzer over this one! It's cuter and more pigmented, and possibly cheaper.

  8. I haven't tried this, but it is super cute. I usually stray from Physicians Formula because it is so expensive for drugstore makeup. But I do love their gel liners!

  10. I love the Happy Booster line. I love using the blushes and Translucent powders from last year (the smell!!!) and it's so pretty to look at. The pigmentation does like quite sheer, but it's pretty all the same.

  12. Hi Kumiko! I recommend the Happy Booster original Light Bronzer if you're fair, or original Bronzer if you're medium. They have more color payoff than these new ones.

  13. This looks like a really nice powder for a bit of color, & the rosey color is particularly pretty. Too bad it's not super pigmented :( I agree, it looks like a great product for someone younger just getting into makeup, or just someone that has a heavy hand and doesn't want something to pigmented! lol ^_^
